I had to add this to my blog after i read about Tonex. There is a minsitry named EX-Ministries that bashes Hip Hop and i wanted to add my 2 cents. here it is.

As a Minster who is also a classically trained musician, I have to disagree with Elder Craig. As a matter of fact, I would love to engage him in his trashing of Hip Hop.
He posits that Hip Hop is not only music but a religion and a lifestyle. I agree that it is also a cultural lifestyle phenomenon pretty much in the same genre as rock and roll, blues and other styles of music. However, to satanize the music of hip hop is in my opinion a myopic perspective.
Many Christian leaders use their influence for good to illuminate others to do good. What Elder Craig has done is not only influencing young unlearned souls but he is operating in a vacuum of ignorance. When you do not understand something you either bash it or leave it alone.
I understand the role that music plays in our world; I also understand the origins of music. I am a student of music and how its affects culture. If we look through history, we will see patterns of cultural behavior that accompanies any new genre that comes on the scene. Generally, there are proponents of these art forms that stand out.
It is not the music that it is evil but the ways of man. Hip Hop is no more dangerous than a man eating an apple.
Let us examine the proposed harms of Hip Hop. There are none. Let us examine the harms of musicians of every genre feasting on sex, drugs, self-aggrandizement, and excess. Now there is the harm. Our easily influenced youth see the lifestyle and they associate it with success and a way to get out of poverty.
Even sport personalities have problems in their lives and it isn't about the sports but who they are and what they have and where they are going.
